Get to Know Me!
As a self-proclaimed creative my ultimate goal is to be seen holistically. Throughout the work on this page the common theme is my desire to take a big concept and serve it up simply.
For my personal ads, my goal is to show me a complex human in a way that best represents me in one picture. For my art/tattoo projects, my goal is to show my complex tattoo ideas in a simple way that an artist can actually put on my skin.
Example #1 of Image Concept Development:
My original idea was to have a medusa themed tattoo, however, I did not want to be basic.
From there I thought about different ways to represent medusa so I decided I wanted snakes around the top of a Venus symbol as it would still be a female with a head of snakes, but, this idea required too much detail.
Then, I saw someone with a sword tattoo that I absolutely loved and I redirected my thought process.
From there, I thought, why not turn the Venus symbol into a sword to represent a woman being powerful, then just have one simple snake wrapping around the sword for protection, like the medusa tattoo is supposed to represent.
My ability to take broad concepts and refine them into something more digestible is central to my creative process. By simplifying the Medusa idea into a design that balances power and protection, I was able to maintain the essence of the concept while making it more unique and meaningful. Whether it's in tattoo design or ad creation, I am always looking to refine my ideas, making them cooler, cleaner, and easier to understand
My frustration over the current job market and the feelings involved continued to weigh upon me and I felt the need to get it out. I created “Work Diaries” as an homage to my favorite childhood book and had the cover reflect the feelings I have been experiencing of late. I posted the cover on LinkedIn along with a diary style writing entry.
I created this personal advertisement during the summer before my senior year of college. My frustrations over the job market and not being seen inspired me to turn myself into an Allstate ad.
